The Battlefield series hasn't featured modern-day combat since 2015's Battlefield Hardline, as Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V took place during World War I and WWII respectively.ĮA has begun to tease the new Battlefield game by sending a viral message to influencers that says, "War is the only way home." One particularly dramatic image shows what looks like a sandstorm overtaking a city another screen shows a player in a tank moving through a city at night. One of the images contains a disclaimer about pre-alpha footage, so even if these images are real, they may not be representative of the final product. They show off what may be the first look at gameplay, and perhaps most notably, the images seem to suggest that the game is set in the modern day or near future, as had been rumored. A fifth studio is working on a mobile game coming next year.EA and DICE will formally announce the new Battlefield game on June 9, but ahead of that, what appears to be some screenshots from the military shooter have emerged. Alongside main series creator DICE Sweden, multiple other studios within EA are also working on Battlefield 6 content, including DICE LA, Criterion and EA Gothenburg. Nevertheless, the fact that they exist at all suggests that we're getting very close to the trailer's official release, and the game's announcement.ĮA recently made a big deal out of its ambitions with Battlefield 6. These are the only two screens to appear, which seems a bit strange considering whoever took them likely has access to the full trailer. The second screenshot shows a bird's-eye view of the same island, where multiple Osprey troop transports are flying into the action as a storm rages in the middle. ![]() ![]() The helicopter is seen firing at a missile launch installation. There's also one more slot for - presumably - defence. The panel on the right displays what look to be armaments, with standard missiles, a minigun, and what look to be guided bombs. The first screenshot shows the inside of a helicopter cockpit, possibly the Viper, which appeared in Battlefield 3 and 4. These could indeed be captured from the Battlefield 6 reveal trailer, which rumours suggest is dropping sometime this month. The shots appear to be screengrabs from a trailer, given their pixelated look. We won't be embedding them in the story, but you can see them for yourself here and here.
